We met in precalculus class during our senior year of high school, were engaged by second semester of our freshman year of college, and got married that summer at the ripe old age of 19.

My parent’s marriage didn’t work out so well. And they were married just after my mom turned 19. I was quite superstitious about that age. I thought if I could make it past the age of 19 without getting married I’d have a better chance at a successful one.
I think if you two were the example I had to look at that instead of the one I had that superstition would have taken on an entirely different shape.

I told you you were a piece of Americana. I think I am going to have make a road trip one day to Idaho. (One loooong road trip – but imagine all we would see!) You all are seriously too cool. My son would love to meet all those kids and see life in Idaho.
Similar story here: we met in May of my senior year (his junior), engaged by next spring, married at 19 & 18, 23 years ago. We’ve got 8 kids from 3 – 22, too!
Congratulations! My husband and I were also high school sweethearts and I was 18 when we were married in January after our first semester of college. It drove me nuts that everyone’s first response to the news was to ask if I was pregnant (I wasn’t). We’ve been married for ten years and we’re still going strong. We only have one child now but we have plans to increase that number.
