Planning to go on a trip and need a jump start on your packing list?

Check out this handy-dandy Universal Packing List. Answer a few simple questions about your trip, and this website will generate a personalized packing list. You’ll still want to customize for your particular needs. But this cool tool will give you a decent starting point — fast!

    Wow! Where did you discover THAT? How cool is that? I created something similar in MS Excel for this Viking Hus but that is WAY more detailed!

    Thanks for the link…good reference! I keep my own packing list that I created in a spreadsheet, sectioned by carry on and checked baggage. This is broken down by columns of “stuff”, such as what I need from the kitchen, bathrooms, clothing, office, etc. My husband actually started this for skiing and I expanded on it for our trips. We just print one off each time we travel. This allows us to cross off items as they are packed. Recently we added space for: “turn down the heat”, “set up dog sitter”, “call the school and excuse the children”.
