Well, the battery on my camera died for the big day, so most of the pictures we got were taken without the benefit of flash. But here are two of the best pictures we got of Second Daughter at her high school graduation. For those of you who asked, the ceremony is a yearly thing for homeschooled seniors organized by our local homeschool group. It is a really nicely done ceremony: caps and gowns and speakers and diplomas and special music and awards 0—the whole shebang. I think that a special ceremony like this is a really nice way for extended family and friends to be able to help celebrate our homeschooled kids’ achievements.
Here my daughter is showing off the medal she got for being a National Merit Commended Scholar. Yes, we’re proud–smile! Her daddy got to present the medal to her… a very sweet moment! I am hoping the picture my mother-in-law took turned out, since I missed that one.
And here we are after the ceremony. The three year old thankfully fell asleep half way through the ceremony and was still asleep draped across me for this picture. It was a wonderful ceremony and a wonderful day!
More later– I’m off to bed!
