We’re still here in the hospital. My 12 year old had two small seizures in the night, which is good for EEG purposes. But after hearing the phone report the doc said he’d probably need more than that, so he said we should be prepared to stay another night. Sigh.
Hubby says everyone is hanging in there at home, so that is good news. I’m praying esp. for my 3 and 6 year old girlies since they are the littlest.
Here at the hospital this morning we watched Enchanted (love that movie) and now my daughter is doing some crafts. She slept fairly decently during the night but much of my night was spent listening to her breathing, trying to guess when a seizure was coming, since I’d been given the all-important task of pushing the ‘event’ button, which makes a note on the EEG to highlight ‘interesting’ stuff. Yawn. I’m hoping for a nap this afternoon.
A couple of other notes of interest. I found out yesterday that I was awarded a $250 Blogher scholarship from HP and Mamaspeaks to help with the expense of going to the event. Woohooo!!! At this point John and I are still optimistically planning on me going to Blogher, and I am praying hard that all will be well on the home front to make that possible.
And finally, I brought the best book to the hospital to read. It is called Living the Good Life, and chronicles the 6 month story of a family the grew most of their own food for 6 months in a suburban neighborhood. I don’t suppose my family will be doing that anytime soon, but it makes for a fascinating read, something I am very much appreciating today!
