Wow.
Yesterday was…
Wow.
Words are failing me (a highly unusual occurrence around here.)
I think I need more coffee.
…..
OK, I’m back.
First order of business– the Opinion Saturday « contest that I totally forgot in all the insane hoopla yesterday. I asked people to share their best moment in the last few days. It was truly lovely to read your moments, big and small. Don’t miss the story of the family adopting their child from Haiti– I loved it.
For the purpose of this contest, however, I selected a story focusing on small moments. If we can train ourselves to truly experience those small moments of joy, we will be so much happier than if we spend our lives breathlessly anticipating the big stuff.
It was hard to choose a small moment, because quite a few people shared lovely bits of their days. Thank you. But I have to pick one so I chose the comment from The Wooden Porch. She is my Golden Keyboard gal this week. Congrats!

I thought you all would be interested to know that this morning an anonymous someone forwarded me an email from a bigwig at BarKeeper’s Friend, asking for my address because it seems they want to send me a gift basket! Woohoo!!
The rep also wanted all y’all to know that you can get your very own free sample of BKF by visiting www.barkeepersfriend.com So head on over and tell’em Owlhaven sent ya!

And finally, once again thanks to all you sweet people who made such a big hoopla here yesterday. I feel like the bashful cop in the trolley accident in the movie Princess Diaries, who, when being knighted by the queen with the emergency brake, said, “Oh, gosh, I’m not all that much!”
And I do mean that. There are tons of great blogs out there that don’t get the comments they deserve. So do me a favor. Spread the ‘frosting’ around. Today, delurk on a less-visited blog you really enjoy and let them know you appreciate them. K?
Now because I spent so much time here yesterday, I’m going to try really hard to stay off the computer till bedtime. Wish me luck!
I could use a cup too… with fat free vanilla creamer, please.
That’s a lot of love, girl! :o)
Mmmm… coffee. I’m supposed to go out and get coffee with some friends later this morning. That’s good. But coffee sounds good, now. That’s not good. I don’t need TWO rounds of coffee in the morning, do I? Maybe I’ll just go sniff the coffee without making it?
Are the comments turned off for the “spread the frosting” post? Or are we supposed to do that on THIS post?
Thank you, thank you! You are so sweet. I’m going to get that up on my blog very soon.
I am smiling from ear to ear and can hardly sit still enough to type this out.
Yea!!!!!
Congrats on the gift basket, Mary. I just sent off for my free sample.
YEAH!!! Corportate America has listened to the people.
Were they humored by the post?
I know I was.
Thanks, that just crossed one more thing off my to do list. Remember call the 1-800 and make sure they know…
Now back off until later this evening.
I got a flood of comments over at my blog because of you! Thanks!
Feel free to do that any tim :-). I love comments!!
I have coffee too and it is late at night here. I have been grinning all day when I think of the fun yesterday. It was lovely to meet you all and be part of the explosion! I will be checking out all the new blogs I discovered regularly now.
This is so great. I love your comment party. You should be getting a thousand comments every day… and gift baskets galore.
Signed up for my free sample. Whoohoo! Glad they’re sending you a gift-basket!.
*sniff*
The free offer is only good in continental US…
I’m sorry I missed all the lovin’ and comments the other day. My connection is acting up again. But how fun! Congrats on all your comments, all your friends, and your giftbasket 🙂 I enjoy your blog and am always amazed at how often you post–you should write a book on time management for the rest of us.
oh and I ALWAYS need more coffee
LOL! I missed all the hooplah! Congrats on making it over 1000! I am spreading the frosting today at other great blogs!
